Vermiculite has a widespread use worldwide in agricultural activities. Vermiculite constitutes a suitable plant growing environment due to its structure in terms of agriculture. It is often used in the formulation of fertilizers by mixing with peat or peat. The vermiculite/peat or coconut shell formulation creates the ideal conditions for a plant to grow. The presence of vermiculite grains in the fertilizer helps aeration, contributes to the development of retention moisture and the release of added fertilizers, while vermiculite with potassium, magnesium and other small elements. The air/water ratio in vermiculite/peat and coconut shell fertilizer provides an ideal stimulation for the growth of the root and, with it, helps to produce healthier young plants. Vermiculite is sterile when processed for agriculture. If stored correctly, it does not require any other application when adding fertilizer to it. Vermiculite can also be used as a storage agent and expander for fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides. It can also be used in powder form for encapsulated seeds. In horticulture, vermiculite provides moisture and the nutrients it needs, as well as aeration of the soil that the plant needs in order for the roots, stems and seeds to grow faster.
It is dug 15 cm wider than the plant body and the soil and plant root at the top of the plant are fed with vermiculite, thus preventing the roots from drying out, being negatively affected by wind and sun during the transplantation process and providing the moisture it needs, healthier plants can be obtained.
